Sujet : CCP Reveals the Amarr Oracle for Eve online
Everyone probably remembers the huge Eve online Design-a-Starship contest, held by the CCP Games last year, graphic designers and EVE Online fans from across the world took part in the competition. The ultimate contest winner was the incredibly impressive Minmatar Tornado, which was meant to be implemented in the game shortly after winning.
With winter approaching, a lot of EVE Online's winter expansion news followed. CCP Guard recently posted his first video and yesterday he's posted part 2 of the series. The new video features more information about the player-created ships selected for the winter expansion and improvements to the game which will improve the visuals of the EVE universe.
And in a new devblog today, CCP Guard revealed the Amarr tier three battlecruiser: the Oracle. Originally named Mentor, was designed by Alexey M for the EVE Online Create a Starship contest. The Oracle is the third player created spaceship coming out of warp in the upcoming winter expansion. The ship joins the Minmatar Tornado and Gallente Talos as yet another entry from last year's design competition to be implemented in the game. The Caldari battlecruiser is still to be revealed, but we got a first glimpse of the ship from yesterday's In Development video devblog and can confirm that it is also a player-submitted design. In the video that Guard posted from yesterday, we can see a snippet of it when they are talking about various art stuff. The Oracle looks a lot like the Caldari's version of the megathron, it looks cool, very military looking.
The design of the Oracle's combat systems stays true to Amarr military doctrine, allowing it to deal frightening amounts of damage at medium to long ranges. It's role will be that of a smaller, more nimble platform, for the feared heavy lasers of the Amarr empire and early intelligence reports indicate that the Oracle´s damage output could even crack a smile on the face of the empress herself.
What's more, the Amarr Oracle will allow EVE Online pilots to deal high damage from medium to long ranges and provide yet another tool in the gears of war of New Eden. CCP Guard also shows that CCP is currently working on engine trails, custom ship skins, a new cyno effect, a new warp tunnel, and graphical upgrades for every single ship in the game. This ongoing work will continue after the winter expansion, but it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine limited edition skins being released for ships as and when they are updated to the V3 standard.
